I was asked as the Relief Society secretary to make invitations to our next board meeting. I wanted to make sure that the sisters knew we were putting some effort into the meeting and we love them and want them to come, so I made these this weekend:

I'm also teaching tomorrow (today!), and I didn't want to do a traditional RS lesson, so I came up with what I am calling "Testimony Prompts", since tomorrow is Fast and Testimony Sunday. Inside each little envelope is a question that should prompt a testimony. I'll have all the sisters take one, and they can either answer it or pass (because I don't want there to be any pressure) and I'm hoping we have a great RS testimony meeting this way! Here are the envelopes I made, and the the "prompts" are listed below :)

Have you ever had a meaningful experience at the temple?
What was the first calling you ever had? What was your favorite calling?
Is there a time when Heavenly Father gave you a direct
answer to a prayer?
How old were you when you were baptized? Do you remember it well?
Has your testimony or the way you live your life ever made
an impression on a non-member?
Have you ever had a meaningful experience while visiting
teaching?
Has there ever been a missionary that made a meaningful impact
in your life? What was his or her name?
Have you ever had a visiting teacher make a special effort
for you that made a difference in your life somehow?
What is something that you do in your daily life that
pleases your Heavenly Father?
What made you get up and come to church today?
Have you ever had a priesthood blessing that helped you in a
profound way?
Do you have a favorite hymn? What do you love about it?
Have you ever done any genealogy work for your family? Have you ever discovered anything interesting
or had any meaningful impressions from your genealogy work?
How has the priesthood made a difference in your life?
If someone asked you how you knew that Joseph Smith was
really a prophet, what would you tell them?
Is there anyone in your life who provides you with a
wonderful example of living the gospel?
Is there anyone who makes you feel welcome and loved when
you come to church? What does he or she
do to make you feel that way?

This month I’m thinking
a lot about Bishop Ward’s Book of Mormon challenge. When I heard about it, I got really
excited. I really wanted to do it! And I did start it. But then life happened! And I’m still in Nephi (I won’t tell you which one!). It doesn’t look like I’m going to complete
the challenge. But I don’t want to give
up. I could quit reading it now, because I’m not going to be able to finish it
in the next two months. That doesn’t sound like a good idea, though. I think
I’ll stick with it. I think Heavenly
Father knows I would like to finish it and that I’m trying my best to do what I
can.
Have you started Bishop
Ward’s Book of Mormon challenge yet?
Maybe you haven’t started yet, and you’re thinking you probably won’t
finish it in time. Well, you’re probably right! But you can still take up the
challenge and see how far you get. It
will feel good to know that you are reading the scriptures along with the rest
of the ward and that you have taken the Bishop’s challenge to heart. Don’t give up! You keep reading and so will
I, and who knows, maybe we’ll surprise ourselves by how far we get! So let’s take up the challenge, or stick with
it, and enjoy reading the Book of Mormon as a ward family!
