Did you need some smiles today?

It's really hard to think about anything else for long and not be sad, but at night we've been reading a few chapter books, and that has been a nice, peaceful part of our day.  I look forward to cuddling up with M&M each night and reading more of our books.  Here we are in Mimi's room. We started with Maxwell's book first, about a boy who develops the power to understand animals.  Mimi's book is an American Girl's book, McKenna. That's the doll that she has. I read a few of the historical series when I was younger- they are really good!  This one is too!

This guy just loves being up on the changing table! He loves to just kick around up there. Pretty cute.

This weekend Max and Mimi really wanted to have some oreos even though they already had some sweets earlier, but this was just not the weekend I wanted to say "no" to them... so I made them sing for their supper, or wash dishes for their dessert.  Max picked up and washed up the table. You can see what a good job he did if you look behind Mimi in the second picture :)  And here's Pippy doing a great job on the dishes...

Trying new things

Tonight Nathan and I tried out our new activity mat and some different camera settings :)

The mat was a big hit!

Nathan really loves to lie down and kick his arms and legs!  It's one of his favorites :)

Chilly day

The warm spell is over and so Nate is bundled up in his little homemade vest that was sent to him with love from RENO!  It fits now, just in time for the chilliness.  He has a little hat that matches, too. If we're lucky I'll get a picture of him being cute in it later :)

This is what Nate is doing right now...

I really wanted to volunteer at Max&Mimi's holiday fair today at their school, but I just can't take my little tiny Nate out and about yet.  These days with Nate are very peaceful and the time is passing really quickly. I send M&M off to school and Nate and I rock and cuddle and feed, and when I look up at the clock, it's already 2! It's going too fast! 

My mom bought me this little ornament at The Little Red Schoolhouse when I was Mimi's age. I BEGGED her for it. I remember seeing it and feeling like I would die if I couldn't take it home.  Oh, I hear little Nate calling...
